Sammy trained at the Royal Ballet School, Guildhall School of Drama and performed in theatre, film and TV for some 20 years before moving into Directing and Choreography.
Sammy Murray is currently choreographing for ITV’s new drama “Victoria” (Series 1 and 2), starring Jenna Coleman. Sammy’s most recent work in 2017 is Witness for the Prosecution (BBC) and Endeavour (ITV). Further television choreography credits include: That Day We Sang (BBC), A Young Doctor’s Notebook (Working Title), John Bishop Panto, Mr Selfridge (ITV), The Hour (BBC), Ballet Shoes (ITV), Giddy Kipper (Sky One), Eric and Ernie (BBC), Victoria Wood’s Midlife Christmas, Housewife 49 (ITV). Theatre, Resident Director and Choreographer: Singin in the Rain (West Yorkshire Playhouse), Acorn Antiques (Tour), That Day We Sang (Royal Exchange/Manchester Int Festival) Assistant Choreographer: Miss Saigon (Aarhus Theatre), Crazy for you. Me and My Girl, The Styne Way (London Palladium) and Three Musketeers (Amsterdam). Sammy also performed in numerous West End Musicals such as 42nd Street, Beauty and the Beast, Singing In The Rain, Me and My Girl (National Tour) and Sweet Charity (Victoria Palace Theatre).
